(Photo by Ryan Kennedy) We are super amped to announce that Cleveland Ohio’s own Cheap Tragedies will be releasing wax with us quite soon. The band is recording June 16 and 17 for a 2-song, limited-edition single for Livewire. Here is some stuff stolen from their bio: Cheap Tragedies was formed late in 2006, Cheap Tragedies has quickly become a staple on the Cleveland and regional Hardcore and Punk scene, tearing up the stage and shedding blood alongside contemporary heavyweights like Cursed, Total Fury, Fucked Up, Government Warning, and legends alike (ie, Toxic Reasons and Radio Birdman). The band features Tony Erba, a founding member mythical constellations 9 Shocks Terror, Gordon Solie Motherfuckers, H-100s, Amps II Eleven, and the incomparable Face Value; Christopher Rager, singer and primary songwriter for Eyeball Records’ The Lovekill; John MIllin, resident edgeman, who has played roles in national touring acts Names For Graves, In The Red, Good Clean Fun, The First Step, and Reflections Records’ Committed; Jeff Grey, a guitar guru with local stompers Damn Near Killed Him, Jackknife Powerbombs and runs Cleveland-Ain’t It Fun—a local music promotions company, and rounds out with Ian Thomas, a recent Philadelphia import, on drums.
The a-side on the single is called “Shepherds To Lost Sheep” and the video below features the band tearing through the track live on WJCU. We think it speaks for itself. Check it out! —xxx
