Coming in early September, Over The Line’s brand new 7” EP “The Weight.” This crushing 4 song 7” features cover art by illustrator Jason Powell and is limited to a first press of 300 (200 on blue and 100 on red.) Over The Line’s sound has been described as metal-tinged traditional hardcore, melding the urgency of Youth of Today, the discordant complexity of Absolution, and gruff anger of early Rollins. You might remember Over The Line from their 1997 demo which created a quick, whispered-about buzz. After a few spur-of-the-moment live sets, and just when dudes were hoping for a follow-up release or tour dates, the band was deaded.
Fast forward two years, and it really wasn’t dead at all. In fact, an altered line-up was born, practices were scheduled and new songs were written. Whereas the demo was influenced by the thanks list of “We’re Not In The Alone” new songs hinted of Absolution, Raw Deal, and Cro-Mags inspired riffs and breakdowns. “The Weight” 7” features these songs—recorded at Gradwell House Studios and available very soon as a limited edition, vinyl only release.
